Slurry Dewatering Decanter Centrifuge in TBM Project to Singapore

Recently, GN finished the fabrication of one set slurry dewatering system for Singapore client who is doing the TBM project. TBM project is widely used in modern urban construction, most of the slurry balance tunneling boring machine need drilling slurry to protect the tunnel inner wall and cooling the drilling bit, and then bring the sand to ground. To some extent, the performance of the slurry dewatering decanter centrifuge will affect the progress and quality of the integrated project.

Normally, the slurry dewatering decanter centrifuge is applied to remove the fine solids in the slurry. And before the decanter centrifuge, there will be a de-sanding unit.

GN de-sanding unit is an economic drilling slurry recycling system which is mainly including the de-sander cyclone and vibrating screen to remove the coarse solids and sand from the used drilling slurry. It can effectively remove the large percentage of solids in the slurry to reduce the load of subsequent dewater decanter. It is compact structure and small footprint for easy transportation and layout on site.

As most of the TBM projects are operated inside the city, limited area is available to store the water. The much fine solids removed from the slurry, the less clean water need to be stored to save room, and then less tankers needed, which can greatly reduce the operation cost. To remove the fine solids in TBM slurry, GN recommends the solution of a combination of dewatering decanter centrifuge with chemical dosing unit. Dewatering decanter centrifuge can remove the solid down to 2~7 microns, however, if added the premixed flocculants into the slurry, much finer solids can be gathered and then easily separated out. GN put the dewatering decanter centrifuge and dosing unit into the container for easy transportation and guarantees the continuous working during bad weather.

GN dewatering decanter centrifuge is always used to treat the slurry with large solids content and requiring a relative high dryness of the discharged solid cake. For more information, please feel free to contact with us.
