Sludge Dewatering Screw Press Package for South America Client
GN Separation has recently arranged the shipment of a sludge dewatering screw press package for a client in South America. The supplied system is intended for sludge thickening and dewatering applications in wastewater treatment processes, supporting the client’s ongoing efforts to enhance sludge management efficiency and operational performance.

The package mainly consists of a GN Screw Press GNDL202 and a Chemical Dosing Unit GNZJY1000, forming an integrated sludge dewatering solution. Based on project requirements, GN Separation provided system-level design, equipment manufacturing, and factory inspection prior to shipment, reflecting the company’s capability in delivering complete sludge dewatering systems rather than individual standalone equipment.
The GN screw press sludge dewatering machine is regarded as an economic and environmentally friendly sludge dewatering solution, widely applied in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment projects. The equipment operates based on the principle of screw extrusion dewatering. During operation, sludge is gradually conveyed forward by the screw shaft, while the change in screw diameter and pitch generates increasing internal pressure. Together with the narrow gap formed between the fixed rings and floating rings, this structure supports continuous solid–liquid separation under relatively low rotational speed.

Compared with traditional high-speed dewatering equipment, screw press technology is often considered suitable for applications where stable operation, reduced noise, and simplified maintenance are important factors. The design allows sludge thickening and dewatering to be completed in a continuous process, making it suitable for long-term operation under variable sludge conditions.
The GNDL202 screw press supplied for this project is designed to integrate sludge thickening and dewatering functions within a compact footprint. Its enclosed structure helps limit odor dispersion and supports cleaner working conditions. The equipment configuration can be adjusted according to sludge characteristics, allowing operators to optimize performance during actual operation.
To support effective flocculation, the system is equipped with the GNZJY1000 chemical dosing unit, which is used for polymer preparation, maturation, and dosing. Proper flocculation is an important step in sludge dewatering, as it influences separation efficiency and cake properties. The dosing unit is designed to provide stable polymer concentration and consistent dosing output, supporting process control and operational flexibility.

From a system perspective, the GN dewatering screw press package includes a fully automatic control cabinet, flocculation modulation unit, sludge thickening and dewatering module, and filtrate collection tank. With automatic control technology, the system can realize continuous and coordinated operation of flocculation, sludge thickening, and extrusion dewatering. The separated filtrate can be collected and returned to the treatment system or discharged according to site requirements.
This project demonstrates GN Separation’s comprehensive capability in sludge dewatering system design and manufacturing. By integrating mechanical equipment, control systems, and process considerations, GN aims to provide practical and reliable solutions tailored to customer applications. Prior to delivery, the system underwent factory inspection to verify equipment condition and system integration.
The shipment to South America reflects GN Separation’s ongoing expansion in international markets, where demand for efficient sludge treatment solutions continues to grow. Applications for such systems may include municipal wastewater treatment plants, food and beverage processing, and other industrial sectors generating biological or mixed sludge.
Looking ahead, GN Separation will continue to focus on system integration, product optimization, and technical support for global clients. Through close collaboration with customers and partners, GN aims to further develop its sludge dewatering solutions to meet diverse project requirements across different regions.
