GNLW364-VFD Sludge Dewatering Centrifuges for Overseas Environmental Company

GN Separation has recently completed factory testing for two sets GNLW364-VFD decanter centrifuges, which are now in route to an overseas environmental company for deployment in municipal sludge dewatering projects.

Decanter Centrifuges: One of Modern Sludge Treatment Solutions
Decanter centrifuges are important in wastewater treatment and sludge management due to their ability to efficiently separate solids from liquids under high centrifugal forces. Unlike traditional methods such as belt presses or filter presses, decanter centrifuges operate continuously, reducing labor costs and enhancing process stability.

Key Applications in Sludge Dewatering:
1. Municipal Wastewater Treatment:
Decanter centrifuges excel at reducing the moisture content of municipal sludge from approximately 98% to 75–85%. This is critical for cost-effective landfilling, incineration, or resource recovery. For instance, GN Separation’s GNLW364 series has been deployed in Middle Eastern and European municipal plants, where its high throughput and compact footprint optimize plant layouts.
2. Industrial Sludge Handling:
In sectors like petrochemicals, textiles, and food processing, sludge often contains hazardous substances such as heavy metals or organic pollutants. GN Separation’s centrifuges, equipped with corrosion-resistant materials like SS2205 duplex stainless steel and tungsten carbide-lined components, ensure durability even in aggressive environments.

Features of GN Separation’s Decanter Centrifuges:
1. Triple Variable-Frequency Control System:
Unlike conventional centrifuges with fixed parameters, GN dewatering centrifuge employs three independent variable-frequency drives for the bowl, differential screw, and feed pump. This enables real-time adjustments.
2. Material Science Breakthroughs:
Bowl Construction: Centrifugally cast SS2305 duplex stainless steel offers higher corrosion resistance than standard 304 steel, extending service life in chloride-rich environments.
Screw Conveyor: 316L stainless steel base with laser-clad tungsten carbide tiles achieves a low wear rate, doubling maintenance intervals compared to conventional designs.
3. Smart Monitoring and Safety:
The integrated HDMI-touchscreen PLC interface provides real-time data on vibration, temperature, and torque, with predictive maintenance alerts.
4. Customization for Global Challenges:
GN Separation’s engineering team collaborates closely with clients to tailor solutions: the 4:1 length-to-diameter ratio is critical for achieving low moisture content in sludge and o explosion-proof variants make it operate safely in oil and gas projects.

Global Recognition and Future Outlook
As the two GNLW364-VFD units embark on their journey overseas, GN Separation reaffirms its position as a global solution provider in separation technology—where innovation meets sustainability.
