GN Sewage Treatment Decanter Centrifuge for Overseas Customer
GN Separation has recently supplied a sewage treatment decanter centrifuge for an overseas customer, supporting a wastewater sludge dewatering application within a municipal and environmental protection project. The equipment is designed to assist the customer in improving sludge handling efficiency while aligning with increasingly stringent environmental management requirements.

With the continuous development of urbanization and industrial activities, wastewater treatment plants are facing growing challenges related to sludge volume, disposal costs, and environmental compliance. Sludge dewatering plays an important role in wastewater treatment processes, as it helps reduce sludge volume, facilitates downstream transportation and disposal, and supports more sustainable plant operations. In this project, the GN decanter centrifuge is applied as a key unit for sludge dewatering after biological and physical-chemical treatment stages.
The supplied GN sewage treatment decanter centrifuge is engineered for stable operation under varying sludge conditions typically found in wastewater treatment plants. The equipment adopts a horizontal decanter centrifuge design, which enables continuous solid-liquid separation and supports consistent dewatering performance. Through centrifugal force, solid particles are separated from the liquid phase, producing a dewatered sludge cake suitable for further handling and a clarified centrate that can be returned to the treatment system.

To better meet the customer’s operational preferences and process requirements, the decanter centrifuge is equipped with VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) control. The VFD system allows flexible adjustment of bowl speed and differential speed, helping operators optimize separation performance based on sludge characteristics such as solids concentration and viscosity. This level of control can contribute to improved adaptability during daily operation and seasonal process fluctuations, while also supporting more efficient energy usage under different working conditions.

Environmental protection considerations were taken into account during theequipment design and selection process. By supporting efficient sludge volume reduction, the decanter centrifuge can help lower the overall environmental footprint associated with sludge transportation and disposal. Reduced sludge volume may lead to lower hauling frequency and disposal demand, which is increasingly relevant as environmental regulations and sustainability expectations continue to evolve in many regions.
In addition, the decanter centrifuge is manufactured with attention to durability and maintainability. Key components are selected to suit wastewater sludge applications, aiming to support long-term operation and routine maintenance requirements. This approach can help customers maintain stable plant performance while managing lifecycle costs more effectively.
This overseas project reflects GN Separation’s ongoing engagement in environmental protection and wastewater treatment sectors. By providing equipment solutions for sludge dewatering, GN continues to work with global customers to address practical challenges in wastewater management. Through technical experience, adaptable equipment configurations, and responsive project support, GN Separation aims to contribute to wastewater treatment projects that focus on efficiency, environmental responsibility, and operational reliability.
