GN 30-inch Bowl Diameter Decanter Centrifuge for Domestic Mining Slurry Concentration Application

GN Separation has recently completed the commissioning of a 30-inch bowl diameter decanter centrifuge for a domestic mining slurry concentration project in China. The equipment has been successfully put into operation, helping the customer improve slurry concentration efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and recover valuable mineral resources through continuous and automatic solid-liquid separation.

For this project, GN supplied its 30-inch (760 mm) bowl diameter decanter centrifuge, one of the largest models in the company's product portfolio. This fully automatic and continuous process minimizes manual intervention while maintaining stable operation around the clock.

To withstand the abrasive nature of mining slurry, the centrifuge is manufactured using high-quality wear-resistant materials. The bowl is fabricated from duplex stainless steel to provide excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The screw flights are protected with replaceable tungsten carbide tiles, significantly extending service life when processing highly abrasive mineral particles. Critical wear areas are also reinforced to reduce maintenance requirements and ensure reliable long-term operation.

Energy efficiency and operational reliability were also important considerations for this project. The decanter centrifuge is equipped with an advanced variable frequency drive (VFD) control system, allowing operators to adjust bowl speed, differential speed, and torque according to changing slurry characteristics. This flexible control helps optimize separation performance while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.

Compared with conventional gravity thickening equipment, the GN decanter centrifuge offers several advantages, including a smaller installation footprint, faster processing speed, higher automation, and consistent separation performance.
