Disc Stack Separator for Oil Content Water Treatment in Steel Mill

This week, GN Finished the fabrication of one set disc stack separator that would be shipped to a steel mill for the oil content wastewater treatment. Being a separation solution provider, GN Separation is committed to designing, manufacturing and integrating the effective separation equipment or system for industrial separation.

GN disc stack separator is installed vertically and the feed inlet is at the top of the machine. The slurry is fed into the separator by gravity or pump transferred at the low pressure. Disc separator is separate material with different density. It is classified as 2-phase separator and 3-phase separator. 2-phase separator is always used for solid-liquid separation, while the 3-phase separator is used for heave liquid, light liquid and solid separation. Sometimes the material to be treated is only the mixture of two types liquid with different density such as the oil and water.
The wastewater produced in steel mill is a type non-emulsified oil water mixture. Separating the oil and water need high G force, therefore the disc stack separator with high speed is normally applied.

The built-in centripetal pump will guide the separated oil and water coming out of the separator from different outlet at the top of the machine. By connecting pipes, the separated oil and water will be sent to different collectors. By assembling the disc separator and control panel on the skid with a slag collection tank, the module would be moved and installed easily as an integrated system.
The disc separator in normally used for material with small sized solid and less content. The purpose of less content solid is to protect the inner part bowl of the separator. The separated water can be reused for flushing in steel production procedures.
